Russia's All-Time Tourism Record in Thailand: 2025 Final Data

When global arrivals to Thailand dipped in 2025, Russians moved in the opposite direction. A record 1,898,837 Russian nationals visited the country last year, surpassing the previous all-time high set in 2013 by 8.7%. For context, total international arrivals to Thailand fell 7.23% over the same period, settling at 32.97 million visits.
The Numbers Speak for Themselves
Russia ranked fourth globally in tourist arrivals to Thailand in 2025, and topped the list among all non-Asian source markets. Even summer, traditionally the slowest period, set a new record: 234,287 Russians visited over June, July, and August combined, 5.4% more than in 2024.

What Rising Tourist Numbers Mean for Pattaya's Rental Market
A tourist who visits Pattaya once tends to come back. One who comes back starts thinking about staying longer. That pattern of repeat visits feeds direct demand for short- and medium-term rental accommodation across the city.
Seafront condominiums are booked out weeks in advance during peak season. Rising arrivals translate to higher occupancy for investment property owners. Rental management in Pattaya lets you earn without being on the ground: a management company handles tenant search, check-ins, and upkeep, while the returns land in your account.
Outlook for 2026
Analysts are measured in their projections: growth rates will likely slow. The destination is approaching a natural ceiling, and competition from Vietnam is a real factor. That said, with a favorable ruble, accessible airfares, and adequate flight capacity, Russian arrivals could cross two million, which would be yet another all-time record.
Tour operators also forecast growing interest in Bangkok, Koh Chang, and the northern provinces. Pattaya is expected to hold its position as the primary Russian-speaking hub in Southeast Asia, with wider interest in Thailand adding to the overall audience rather than diluting it.
What It Means for Buyers and Renters in Pattaya
The 2025 record is not just a headline statistic. It confirms sustained demand for accommodation that sits behind every arrival. Foreign nationals can buy a condominium unit in Thailand outright (freehold) within the 49% foreign ownership quota, or secure a long-term lease (leasehold) for 30 years with renewal rights. Land ownership remains unavailable to foreigners; condominiums are an entirely different matter.
